Non Emergency (618) 931-0161
Here to serve the citizens of the Mitchell Fire Protection District. If you are interested in joining please contact us.
Mitchell Fire Department is here for you. We work hard to be a resource for our community. Have ideas about how we could do that better? Join us!
We are actively searching for people who want to help their community. Our Junior Firefighter program begins at age 14 and is a great way for kids to learn the basics of firefighting. Our Senior department is for ages 18 and over. We train and educate all of our members to meet state qualifications for firefighting and up to an EMT-B. If you are recently graduated from High School and still trying to figure out what you want to do in life, give firefighting a shot. It is a very rewarding field. If you are older and want to help we always have a need for help in many different ways. Come by the stations on Wednesday evenings (alternating weeks between the 2 stations) or whenever you see someone there, or cal 618-931-0161 to get an application.
The mission of the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department shall be the protection, preservation and well-being of the health, safety, and property of all persons residing, working or otherwise within the Mitchell Fire Protection District. We shall accomplish this mission not only through emergency medical services, and fire suppression but also from fire prevention and education. We shall maintain a high standard of training and education, act and perform in a safe, courteous, and professional manner. We will strive to create a strong bond with the residents of Mitchell and surrounding communities, also to interact professionally with other fire districts and departments.
As members of the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department, we have chosen to be part of a team that takes pride in representing this mission through dedication and integrity.
We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you. Thank you Mitchell for all your time and donations that makes this possible!
